Hidden Pond Nature Center

It's been really important to me lately to spend quality time with Nate. But it's also been important to me to get out of the house and find free things to do (my job will be ending soon with the impending move). I've been meaning to check out our local nature centers for a long time. This Sunday we actually found the time to do it. So after lunch with Uncle David we headed to Hidden Pond Nature Center in Springfield, VA.

Nate is really into frogs and turtles right now. There was a wonderful girl there who brought some turtles out for Nate and the other kids to look at.

Nate was fascinated with this tank, not because of the freshwater shrimp, because of the numerous number or rocks in it.

We also took a walk around the pond. I had to try to keep up with this little guy.

I absolutely positively love, love, love this picture.

Total Cost: $0!

We will definitely try to go back here before we move. There was also a great playground near the parking lot. We had a great time exploring nature and learning about amphibians and reptiles.
